Silent Night
Whispers are secrets almost silently breathed into another’s ear. Followed by a sigh. Whispers are an idea shared with uncertainty. The teller is unsure and lacking in confidence. A whisperer lacks the stamina to speak loudly. Timid and easily frightened, the whisperer becomes the whispered. He or she is neither easily distracted nor are they highly reliable. Speak louder please for all to hear.
Is That a Whisper?
The trees whisper in the wind. Beckoning us, luring us into their pine covered grounds. It is darker beneath the trees. There is an ominous warning if you want to listen. Whatever happens in the woods stays in the woods. Corpses of discarded animals lay unwanted alone and forgotten by all. Traveling in the woods by oneself is at times dangerous and uninviting. Bears, coyotes, and wolves may be hiding nearby. You don’t see them, but they are aware of you. Their ears and eyes are wide open. Stalking and crying out for one another. If you listen, you will hear. You should be afraid or at the very least aware of the traps the forest sets for you. This is their territory. You are a visitor, terribly naive, strolling along seemingly without a care in the world. Until there you are face to face with a wolf, the hairs on your neck raise. Because if there is one wolf nearby, most likely there will be more. The wolf raises his head and softly howls. A whispered howl because his partners are near slowly surrounding you without your being aware. This scenario almost always turns out badly for the human. Competing with a pack of wolves is near impossible.
Subways
Sitting in the subway on the way home from work. A couple sits opposite you. Whispering in one another's ears, then looking at you. Their laughter escapes their mouths like lightning bolts. Wondering what’s so funny you stare in return. Until you see the look in their eyes. A predatory look. A I’m going to gut you and pick your bones kind of look. Is there a reason they picked you out of the crowd? Perhaps there is, you may look like a victim with your posture, and your furtive looks. Steer clear of them. Whispers whispered with an ill intent means nothing good for you.
A Lovers Breath
Whispers of love turn a bad day good. Sweet nothing in your ear, ramblings of nonsense are just what you need.
A whisper is spoken softly, the whisperer barely using their vocal cords. They do not want to be overheard. These words are all meant for you. Of course, whispering in front of others is almost always rude. So, wait, wait until you are alone. Just the two of you.
An embarrassed whisper may mean, “your zipper is down, or you have something in your teeth”. Although these may be embarrassing at the moment. You should thank the whisperer if you can. Avoiding further embarrassment is what they accomplished when they whispered in your ear. I’d thank them profusely.
Whispering if you’re by yourself could be considered strange and unsettling for some. This may be plausible in your own home but not out in public. You may find yourself somewhere you do not want to be.
We All Fit In
People have an unnecessary need to fit in with the group they are in. Be part of the crowd. Many are “sheep” whispering and mimicking others. No personality of their own, they resort to copy catting. A whisper whispered once can take on a life of its own. Soon it is no longer whispered but shouted from the rooftops. Not everything should be public knowledge. Some things should be kept private.
We all live to hear the good whispers.
With the flick of the wind. A whisper is crafted and born.
A whisper whispered is a whisper wished.
Watch out for the evil intended wishes. They are headed your way.
A whisper a day keeps the doctor away.
