What Face Do You Hide Behind

Many Different Faces

People often hide behind a fake facade. They show one face to the world, hiding their real face behind false platitudes and flowery phrases.

None of us really know one another, do we? What happens behind closed doors may make us all shudder.

Perhaps if we observed each other more closely we may see the evil that lurks inside. That smile that seems so genuine hides the insane person hiding behind it.

Ted Bundy

People often say along with brilliance comes insanity. We all walk alongside evil every day. We just don’t know it. The guy that needs help finding his lost puppy is the next Ted Bundy. Caught in the grip of a demented person we soon realize it’s fight or die time.

BTK

The store clerk who seems so nice may go home and torture animals. Once caught his neighbors say they never thought he would be the type of person who would do that. He seemed so engaging.

Infamous serial killer BTK was the deacon of his church. I’m sure everyone thought he was nice. Until they found out he wasn’t.

Which One Are You?

Is there a way to tell if someone is fake? Your guess is as good as mine. Do we all put on a face as we head out the door? Is there a certain protocol we all follow? Politeness is always expected. It’s easy to be polite to a person's face, the real test comes after that person walks out the door. The snide remarks and nasty comments easily slide out of people’s mouths. I’ve observed and heard them myself.

Is It Easy

How easy is it to spot someone who is inauthentic? People often feel pressured to be someone they aren’t. As if their real selves aren’t good enough. Maybe this will make them more liked by others, or successful if they act a certain way.

Friend Or Foe

If you have a best friend who spreads rumors behind your back. Maybe it’s time to find a different friend. False ingenuine people are often full of flattery. When in reality they are manipulative and judgmental. Full of themselves, but secretly insecure. Filled with jealousy, these people love to make us feel bad about ourselves.

Fake Friends

A fake friend loves talking about themselves but has no time to listen to what you have to say. They will direct the conversation right back to themselves.

We Are All Guilty

We all may be guilty of putting on a fake face to the world. At times we do so just to get through the day. It’s the ones who practice it every day we need to worry about.

We need to surround ourselves with others who will not only support us, but encourage and build up our self esteem.

Say no to the naysayers who try to break our spirits and drag us down to their level.

A smile often hides darkness. Don’t let it be your own.
