Paid For

Our Hawaii trip is really happening. It’s paid for, we are all set, and we don’t go until next Spring. Our Airbnb is waiting for us. Paid for as well. To say I’m excited is the understatement of the year.

Thank God for Him

We booked our flight through a travel agent. What a load off of both my sister Tammy’s and my mind. Our travel agent was a young guy. I’d say late twenties. After we were done with all the paperwork, I asked him about the airport and the steps we needed to take to get our boarding passes. He told me exactly what to do and in what order. I thanked him profusely. Shook his hand and left the building.

When I got in my car, I texted Tammy and said we are going to Hawaii!!!!!! I was so excited everything fell into place and worked out so well. Like I said prior, thank God for the travel agent.

Layover

We will have a layover in Seattle for an hour and a half.  The travel agent had asked me about luggage. I told him we were only bringing carry ons. He said that was an excellent idea because of our short time in Seattle we would need to find our next flight and that would apparently take some time. Seattle must be a big airport. It will take us time to make sure we were at the right spot to board our next flight. When I spoke to Tammy, she said leave it to us to probably muck something up. She didn’t use the word muck, but you get my gist. I told her I was getting stressed out thinking about it. I’ll be so glad when the flying part is over and we are in Hawaii.

To get to where we are going, we will need to board a puddle jumper after we land in Maui. So back on another airplane this being a small one. Fingers crossed. They are called puddle jumpers for a reason.

We Are Both Excited

Tammy and I talked about carry-on bags, the dimensions they had to be, what you can carry in them. Some of the rules are so rigid. But I suppose for a reason. The flying part of this trip is both mine and Tammy’s least favorite part. In order to get to Hawaii unfortunately you have to fly. We have both flown before, so we know what to expect. But we don’t have to like it.

So, from this day forward we will look forward to March. The way that time flies it will go quickly. Before we can say boo, it will be March and away, we go. My husband Gary will be driving us to the airport. He will also pick us up. He is a non-flier. He has never flown and says he never will.

Now onto maybe buying a backpack and a new purse. We won’t need heavy clothes because the weather there will be tropical. So, pack lightly, make sure to bring a swimsuit and some sandals. And don’t forget your driver's license.

I’m excited and scared all at the same time. Tammy says she feels the same.

Summer fun in March here we come. Warm weather, lounging on the beach, sipping on a drink, applying suntan lotion.  Soaking in the sun. It sounds like heaven on earth. It will be. I promise.

Hawaii will never be the same. Dreams can come true.
