I Wish
Have you ever wished upon a star? How often do you wish? Maybe for a different life. To be and exist in a different time or era. Or to wish upon a star.
Do you wish for happiness? Do you wish for success? Do you wish desperately for love or to be loved?
Do you wish for a future filled with happiness and success?
What are your three secret wishes?
Hers's Mine:
I wish I was beautiful.
I wish for success.
I wish I could make my first two wishes come true.
A Hope and Desire
What are wishes? A strong desire or hope for something that would normally be unattainable. Something out of this realm. Something that will most likely not happen.
Wishes are whispered in the dark. Never to see the light of day. Sprinkled with fairy dust to create an illusion. A mirage, an image one could never live up to. Wishes are dreams for our future. A hauntingly familiar tune we whistle as our life slowly dismantles. Leaving our wishes broken petals as they fall to the ground. Splintered and forever forgotten.
Make a Wish
How does one make a wish? Tossing a coin into a water fountain is one way. The wish carried on the breeze, whispered into all four corners of the universe.
Telling someone about your wish may increase the chance of it coming true. A wishbone in a turkey is another way. Secretly whispering your wish so no one else can hear. What does one usually wish for? Health, happiness. Above all else, a family. A genie in a bottle. Only if you believe. This one isn’t for naysayers or nonbelievers. Genies are fairies meant to collect wishes and make them come true.
A Childs Innocence
A child believes. They squeeze their eyes tight. Keep them closed. If you open them your wish will not come true. Make your wish at night. The glittery stars are the backdrop for something beautiful yet to come. A falling star makes us a believer. If we wish hard and long enough our wish may come true.
We All Wish
There is an old proverb that goes as follows, if wishes were horses beggars would ride. Suggesting if wishes came true, even the most desolate people would have everything they wanted.
A lonely child may wish for friends. An elderly man in a nursing home wishes for his youth. A poor man wishes for success. A young boy with cancer wishes for a cure. We all wish for the unattainable. But maybe just maybe if we wish hard and long enough the unattainable will become attainable. If you believe, close your eyes tightly and make a wish. You never know, it just may come true.
Bad Luck
There are always those who wish bad luck upon others. Spiteful people who have hatred in their hearts and love to see others suffer. Their wishes need to be cast into the wind never to be taken seriously.
In Willy Wonka a wish worked for Charlie Bucket. He wanted a golden ticket, and he got one. In the end he got everything he ever wished for. If only we could all say the same. Life doesn’t work like that though.
Health and happiness I believe are the two most important wishes. Otherwise, what would life be like without them?
Wishing to go back in time and redo is something many of us wish for. It isn’t to be. What is, is, and there is nothing that can or will be altered or revised.
A wish for world peace is on my list. What’s yours?
