A Blast
We took the grandkids to a place called Safari Country. Animals wander aimlessly around and stick their heads into your vehicles. We all loved it. The camels were seriously funny, the cows with their big tongues were juicy. There were donkeys and llamas, emus, and deer. They all stuck their heads into our vehicle looking for food. Both of our grandkids love animals so both of them had an extremely fun time. There was so much laughter going on in the car, and the looks on their faces were priceless. As we drove through laughter ensued. Animals everywhere we looked. They were all hungry.
We will definitely return next year with the boys. They are adding on an exhibit next year with tortoises, sounds amazing. Gary and I are already looking forward to going next year.
Animal Lovers
I knew Ethan and I would love it because we are both animal lovers. I thought at first Elliot would be a little timid around the animals. Maybe some would scare him, but he surprised me. He had such a good time feeding and petting the animals. His laughter rang throughout the car. As well as mine.
A camel was stalking us throughout our time in the Safari. He knew we had food and wasn’t going to let us go. He was a delight. He was one of my favorites, as well as a Brahma cow. She was beautiful and huge. Ostriches stuck their heads in pecking at our food bowls. An emu pecked so hard at Elliot’s bowl. He knocked it right out of his hand.
The Babies
When we got to the end, you could park and wander among the many animals. They all act like they are starving but do not look like it. The baby goats were adorable. One snuck out from under the fence and followed us around. So cute.
No Enclosures Please
I did feel sorry for a fox who was enclosed by himself. Sad. Also, the kangaroos wanted nothing to do with us. I felt bad for them too. Being penned up isn’t any fun for any animal. There were beautiful peacocks there. Bulls with the longest horns I’ve ever seen. I was in my element. I could have stayed there all day. It was a day packed with memories I’ll never forget.
Our trip through the safari was the absolute best though. There were so many giggles and so many animals. All four of us were in heaven. If you are an animal lover you will need to visit. The place is called Safari Country and it’s in Baldwin Wisconsin. You will not regret visiting. Bring the kids, grandkids, or go by yourselves. It truly is something unforgettable and fun.
I told my grandkids, same time next year we will go back. Ethan, Elliot, and I wanted to go around a second time. But unfortunately, we ran out of time. Next year.
Lunch Time
After leaving we went to the closest Culver’s and ate lunch. We all had ice cream for dessert. The day was perfect. The weather was perfect. The only thing not perfect is the shape of my car when we got done. Food pellets all over the place. After we got home, I called to have it detailed. It was worth it though, to watch the boys' and the fun they had.
It’s called Safari Country. Google it and go.
You won’t be sorry! Memories made.
