Rain, Rain Go Away

It is raining outside here in Wisconsin right now. I was just going to lace up my running shoes and head out the door. Too little too late. I’ll have to wait it out. I know we need rain, but I think it’s the worst. I wish it would just rain throughout the night and be done by morning.

It Doesn't Stop Me

Yesterday I ran in the rain. The rain we are experiencing right now is heavier than the rain yesterday. Yesterday there was a misty sprinkle, right now it’s pouring outside. It looks like cold rain. It is a downpour. I’m hoping it doesn’t last.  It clears up and I can run. I should have known this was coming. It was humid out this morning when Ernie and I walked. There was no sun.  A heaviness in the air that usually means there is a storm coming. I did hear thunder but saw no lightning.

Time to Read

Turns out it’s a good day to stay inside, at least for now. Prop my feet up and read a book. I have a ton of them from the library to pick from. On second thought it looks like it’s letting up. I still hear thunder in the distance, but the rain eased up. A pop-up shower? I can always sneak a run in between the rain. Yesterday when I came home, I was soaked even though it was a slight rain. I don’t mind running in the rain if it isn’t cold outside. My run yesterday was a good run. 3 miles around the block. Good enough, on my days off I’ll run further. If I’m heading into work, which I did yesterday I’ll only run three. Otherwise, I’ll get too tired at work. Work is a place I need to be on my toes. Especially with the caliber of people who come in. Enough said about that.

I’m looking out the window and it looks like the rain has abated. I no longer hear thunder, so maybe that means I can head out the door. Whoops, spoke too soon. I just heard thunder in the distance. I should probably give it another half an hour or so before I venture out.

I don’t have to work today so I was heading out for a longer run. I do not want to get caught in a downpour. I’ll be heading uptown, and around the park. Pushing myself up hills and enjoying the downhills. This time of the year is my favorite time so I’ll spend as much time as I can outdoors. Summers are way too short in Wisconsin. So, I take advantage.

Can I Run Please

The thunder is continuing for now. It looks like my run will be postponed indefinitely.  Unless something turns around shortly. It’s nearing eleven o clock now. We have a football game to go to at 5 pm. There is a meal to be made and a house to be cleaned. If anything, I will do a short 3-mile run. It’s in the country, I love it. Bears beware. I’m always on the lookout. I should pick up some pepper spray, but in all reality the bear would have to be damn near on me by the time I can use it. If there is any kind of wind it could backfire, and I’d be the one getting sprayed. I know I’m running in his territory and he or she has a right to live. I just hope and pray our paths never cross.

In the meantime, feet to the pavement and go.

Update: It stopped raining, and I ran. The sun is now out, and it is another beautiful day in Wisconsin. Hallelujah
