Can We Win

What are our chances of winning? We are more apt to be struck by lightning. Like everyone says if a ticket isn’t purchased the chances of winning, are nil.

Set For Life

We all dream of winning. What would we do with the money? We would set up our kids for life and also our grandkids. Stipulation with the grandkids is they would have to have a steady job in order to get the money. No freeloaders allowed. We all work, and Gary and I believe it instills a sense of pride within for a job well done.

My Dream

My dream would be to buy a hobby farm and get a ton of animals-heaven. My husband's thoughts most likely differ from mine. We’d have to come to a joint resolution.

But we can all imagine how our lives would change. No more worrying about bills, taxes, medical payments, etc. Life would be glorious.

There is Always a Downside

Although there is a dark seedy side to winning the lottery. People come out of the woodwork asking for money. More than one person has been killed over it. Money brings out the greed in everyone. The green-eyed monster front and center. Discovering who your true friends really are would be eye opening. The flattering photo of me above shows what I think of people and their greed. My husband takes good photos on the norm I do not. I accept this, and I accept my husband and I will never be rich. I'm ok with that. What I cannot abide by are people who only see the world one way. Materialistically. There is so much more out there to offer if we just look. Money cannot make a person happy. That is a belief that resides deep down in my soul.

There are many different lotteries we could buy. Wisconsin Lottery, most of us go the way of the Powerball. Money spent and lost with nothing gained. We hope and pray and sit with fingers crossed while they rattle off the numbers. A sense of loss settles over us as we realize once again, we come up short. Maybe next week is our lucky week, as we race to the store to purchase another ticket. It’s like a talking head on automatic rewind. Next week is our week, next week is our week.

If a person added up what they spend on the lottery for a year, they may think differently about purchasing their next ticket. Or maybe not, it’s a gamble the same way gambling is. It is an addiction for some. A way of life for others.

We all have the same chance, if we play. Are there others out there like me who do not play? Not to say I’ve never bought a ticket-I have. But on the norm the day passes without me even knowing it is THE day when they announce the numbers. Everyone sits with bated breath. Is it possible? Will this be our lucky week?

Our hopes dashed once again. We live to play another day. We keep on working and dreaming of that day when all our dreams come to fruition.

We won!

Our world turns upside down. The first thing we do is quit our job. We make sure we do not lose the ticket. We've heard horror stories of people accidentally throwing them in the trash. Now we can start planning for the rest of our lives. The world is ours to enjoy, fun is at our fingertips. We need to find a solid investment planner. We need to move out of the city we currently live in. Isolate ourselves for a while. Start living our dream life. We all can dream can’t we. I say dream big!!!

But be careful what you wish for.

Waking up in the morning is like winning the lottery. Another day in paradise. Breathing, running, and taking in the sunshine. Life is a crapshoot make the most of it!
