Choose Happiness

Where are you at in your life? Right now, at this very second. Would you be able to tell us all that you are happy? Happy with yourself. Happy with the way things turned out on this roller coaster ride we call a life. Look at the precious face above. It is perfection and wonder and grace. It's a beauty beyond belief. It's an innocence that cannot be manufactured. It is sweetness personified. Her little face, I cannot get over it. Nor do I want to. I could look at her for hours.

We should all look toward the kiddos. Look at the expressions on their faces. Notice the joy and the wonder. What happened to that innocence we all held dear?

Does it disappear, float away into the atmosphere as we age. Do we lose a tiny part of our being as we grow? That unbridled joy we see in the face of a child as you blow on a dandelion fluff and watch it float in the air. The rapture on their faces as they see a puppy or kitten for the first time. Happy just to be present, alive. Live in the moment.

As We Age

All of the above mostly disappears as we age. We become jaded, some of us are bitter, and believe the world has treated them unfairly. The need to find joy, escape depression, become a useful part of society takes precedence over everything. Grasp the brass ring. Make it to the top. Getting to the top means nothing if you don’t have joy, laughter, and love in your heart. It’s all emptiness, sitting at the top of the mountain alone. No one to celebrate with you, no one to share your accomplishments with.

Kids Know

We can all learn from kids. Kids don’t have hate in their hearts. That hate is planted there, if you let it, it grows.

Kids only want to run, to play, to experience. If a child never went to a store, they would be happy playing with whatever is in their surroundings. Sticks, dirt, trees, bugs. The list is endless. If they don’t know any other way, they would be content with these things.

Kids are the cure all if you are having a bad day. How can you look into the face of a child and not love? Look at the world through their eyes. The joy of a first friend, a bud, a playmate. A first puppy or kitten.

Look at yourself through the eyes of a child. Do you like what you see? Or is there room for improvement? A child will see right through you. Trying to hide hate, bitterness, and jealousy doesn’t work with kids. They will call you out on it.

Most of all live your life like you’re a kid. Learn something new every day. It is never too late to learn. Challenge yourself in different ways. Step outside that little box you’ve placed yourself in. Look for fun, look for adventure. Look for life. It's right around the corner waiting for you to find it. Choose wisely.

Kids know. Kids know the secret to life is happiness. They are born with it. It exudes from their pores. If it isn’t stifled, they thrive, grow, and mature into selfless adults. Looking to take that next leap.

A child conveys love without speaking. You can see it in their eyes, you can see it in their actions. Love like a child

Look to the future of our country. Look toward the kids.

Look into a child’s eyes.
