Aren’t We All Adults
It’s so easy to talk about politics, with the presidential election coming up that is all we see on tv now. Tiring as it may be, we need to face facts and go out and vote. To make a difference we need our voices heard, make your vote count.
Do We Have to Be Mean Spirited
Who is running? It seems as if people think how much someone weighs factors in with what is important, and how they can do the job. The comments I see posted on all social media sites are insulting and mean spirited. Does anyone really care how much a candidate weighs? Please explain to me how a person's weight affects how they govern. Age may make a difference. It depends on how mentally alert the person is. I do not believe we as people should pass judgment on this. It takes an expert to diagnose. Every single one of us has made an error; or said something wrong when we are speaking. To say you never have is a falsehood, a lie. Lies in politics, I cannot believe it. Enough said.
Social Media
Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram are horrible. What has become of us? Why are we acting like children, placing blame, name calling, hurtling insults, and basically being rotten people? Is there no moral high ground anymore? Did that go out the window when former president Trump was in office? He is famous for his insults. Has the hatred in his heart spread throughout this country? It seems as if his base has no objection to the things that come out of his mouth. The dirtier he becomes the more they cheer him on.
Ron Desantimonious is just one of his jeers. Crooked Hillary Clinton is another, only now it’s crooked Joe Biden. Is there no end to the name calling, taunts, and jeers? Believe me, I know it’s not all one sided. It comes from both sides. Do we all have to look forward to four more years of this?
Is civility outdated and no longer looked upon as a decent way to present oneself? The more outrageous a candidate acts the more the people like it. Dragging all of us down into the gutter with them. A clown, someone who is not fit to represent us in the White House.
When did respecting the White House and Presidency become a thing of the past?
Get to The Truth of The Matter
I believe all candidates should run on the belief of their policies. What they stand for and believe in. What is great for the country, and benefits the American people. Let’s have debates and let the people choose who is more qualified. Stop with the “rigged election” talk, stop with the name calling and mud throwing. Politics is a dirty business and it seems as if you have to be dirty yourself in order to succeed.
Debates need to be run fairly. Ask a question and let one candidate answer, then shut off his or her mike. Then it’s the other candidates turn to speak. No interruptions, no butting in. Give them each a certain amount of time and let them say what they want to say. It seems to be an easy solution, but that is not what happens. They constantly interrupt one another and begin to degrade their opponent. While this is entertaining for some, it belittles the entire process. Making it a mockery of the worst kind.
Biden VS Trump
Is there going to be another Biden-Trump rematch in 2024? I’m not sure the world can take it. Are there no better candidates out there or is everyone secretly anticipating the rematch of these two? I for one am not. Can the Democrats and Republicans not come up with more suitable people? My theory is Donald Trump cares only about himself. ( no matter what he professes). Joe Biden is too old. Not caring if that makes me an agest or not. This is my opinion, mine alone. I strongly believe we need someone in office with forward thinking. Not someone who moans and groans because the last election was rigged. It wasn’t, let’s get beyond that and move forward. A candidate who is younger would be preferable. Do these people never want to retire and just live? Is it that important for them to remain in the spotlight? President Biden is in his 80’s, he has had his time in the Oval Office, now let someone else take a swing at the bat. Thank you for your service and all that but please step aside. Same goes for Donald Trump. He had his moment in the sun. (He did look directly at it). Now please step aside.
For them both it is a power and control thing. Who has more power, who wants to remain in control. When it should be about our country. What can we do to improve our way of life? Bring inflation down, build our highways, solidify our borders. We need to be a strong nation, a nation of people who may not see eye to eye on all things. But people who want to work together to bring peace, harmony, and unity back. Because as of right now I do not see us headed in that direction. So, let’s put our heads together and figure out a way out of this mess we all created by working together as one. We the people.
Enough preaching for one day. Please be kind to one another.
