I Can

Can you imagine if the world were flat? If we all flew like birds? If we had sixteen toes and sixteen fingers? Can you imagine if the sky was green and the grass was blue? What if animals spoke to us? Can you imagine?

Let Us Listen

smiling woman looking upward

Can you imagine if we spoke, but no one listened? Or if none of us could see the brilliant blues, greens, oranges, pinks, and purples of the world? What if everything we wished for would come true? Can you imagine? Can you imagine if we cured cancer, let the blind have sight, let the deaf hear. What if we could float above the clouds and see a different world? A castle in the sky. The steps are made of red licorice, the door knocker is made of a Jolly Rancher. As you step inside the floor seems to be made of Chocolate Pudding, but you sink in only a little way, like with a shag carpet. The windows are made of Cotton Candy, and chewy gum drops. The owner of the house comes downstairs, and his clothes are made of marshmallows and Hershey's chocolate. His hat is a big strawberry, hollowed out and filled with a creamy Vanilla Pudding. He is on a bicycle made of Oreo cookies and Dots Pretzels. I can only imagine.

Love Not Hate

Can you imagine if we all loved one another. Hugs are plentiful, along with the best, most encouraging compliments. Your hair is beautiful, that dress looks so nice on you, your eyes are the story of summer nights. You have such a glow about you. Can we be friends? Let’s go have a picnic. No, you don’t have to go to work today. Take the day off, with pay. My treat. Let’s all get together for Christmas. Sing carols, eat like pigs, and chug a few. I can only imagine.

Love All

Can you imagine if everyone on this earth loved dogs and cats? No more dropping dogs off at shelters because they are too old. No more tying them up on a chain.  No more dropping them off on a deserted road. No more being mean to cats just because you can. Dropping them off in the dead of winter to fend for themselves. Every dog has a happy home, every cat has the same.

Am I Your Business

I can only imagine a world filled with people who mind their own business. No snooping into anyone else’s life. No gossip, no whispering in someone’s ear. No making another person feel bad. No embarrassment, no loneliness, and no suicides. I can only imagine. No school shootings. No mental health issues with our kids. No bullying, no picking on someone who doesn’t have the right hair cut or the correct pair of shoes. The quiet ones, the ones with a bad home life. I can only imagine.

Stay Safe

a large tornado is coming out of the sky

I can only imagine a world with no violence, no hurricanes, no tornadoes ripping apart people's lives with their horrific winds. Destroying entire cities, flattening homes. Taking lives with no thought or consequence. Leaving devastation and sorrow in their wake. Thousands trying to rebuild homes taken in an instant. I can only imagine.

A Better World

Let’s all imagine a better world. It scares me what the world will be like when my grandkids grow up. I can only imagine. I’d like to imagine the world will be a better place. Neighbor helping neighbor, friend helping friend. Kindness and prosperity. Helpfulness and sincerity.

Believe if you want to believe. I do.
