It’s Called Hope

What is hope? Is hope a wish on a sunny day? Is it something to look forward to? Like an ice cream cone on a hot day. A trip to the mall to get new clothes. A phone call from a friend who you haven’t spoken to in months. Is it something tangible, or does it float in the air like a fairy with wings. Is it something we can see or touch? Is it hope for a miracle, or the chance of a miracle. Can you live without hope? Can any of us live without hope? What kind of life would we have if we had no hope? 

If wishes were miracles we wouldn’t need hope. We hope for a better day, we hope for a better future. Is hope a prayer? It could be, I guess.

Define It

The definition of hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. Can hope be a bad thing? If we hope someone trips and falls this isn’t a good thing. If we hope for a cure for Cancer, it's a great thing. 

We all need to hope. Without hope we would have nothing. Every single day we wake up we hope. For a good day, for nice weather, for love, for a surprise, for goodness, and for glory. Do some of us strive for this more than others? Yes, I believe so. We all are not the same. As individuals we are unique. Our hopes and dreams differ from one another. As it should be. There are those of us who’s futures hold a wonder they can only achieve. 

What we hope for and what we want are two different things. Wanting something can at times be detrimental and wrong. Be careful what you want. It may come true, and it may not be what you actually wanted, greed and envy factor in always. 

Always Hope

Hope is an innocence; it is a child with their hands clasped together hoping for a friend. Someone they can play with; someone they can call their own. We all hope for lasting friendships. Because what is life without friends? A lonely path down a long road. Filled with strife, hardship and unhappiness. We all need friends; friends are the roots that keep us grounded. They are the ones we turn to in times of trouble, or in times of happiness.

Hope is a wish whispered softly

A dance in the moonlight for all to see

Hope is a memory, kept in our heart

A song hauntingly hitting our soul

Hope is a desire

A chance to inspire

‍

Hope is a memory

We hold close, we hold dear

‍

Hope is a falling star

We wish we could catch

‍

Hope is a grandmother

Holding her first grandchild

Hope is contagious

Its light is surreal

‍

Hope is connected

We all hope, we all feel

‍

Lastly, hope is what we all need to feel in this sometimes dark, dangerous world. It’s hope for a future, let's all head toward the light. Prosperity, goodness, and sincerity is what we strive for. It makes us better people. It blends us together, no right, no wrong. Just being in the moment, we all need to belong. Together as people we can be strong.
