Let's Talk About Love

Everyone always says to love yourself first. I don’t believe there is a truer statement. In honor of Valentine's Day let’s talk about love.

There are many different sides to love. The love someone has for their significant other is different from the love you have for your children and grandchildren.

Believers say love will keep us together. If I had to choose between love and hate. Love would always win. What is the definition of love? It is an intense feeling of deep affection for someone other than yourself. 

Oh ,To Be Young

The young experience their first love-a first crush that brings along with it a series of hot-blooded emotions. Frequent fights, along with making up are for the young at heart. Fierce feelings, jealousy, make a toxic situation even more dangerous.

In addition, for those of us who do not find love until later in life-it is more of a steady, warm, compassionate feeling. An enduring love, one that withstands the most difficult conflict. 

If you are out there still looking, do not get discouraged. Love comes along when you least expect it.

How Do You Know

How do you know when you are in love? There are many different signs. A euphoric feeling when you lay eyes on the one you love. You never tire of them, you always want their company. Pleasing them makes you feel great, you make sacrifices. It isn’t only about you anymore, your thoughts and dreams revolve around another person. Selflessness, you realize you have an abundance of it when you are in love.

Love Or Lust

Can you fall out of love? Many people say they do, but were they actually in love in the first place? Or was it just lust? An emotion often confused with being in love. Furthermore love settles after a while. It has to, you cannot sustain a high for your entire life. Love continues but becomes different. It stays with you daily, the choices made most times are because of love. You build a life with someone and you expect that life to continue until you die. At least that’s what your marriage vows promise. It doesn’t always happen. Life gets in the way, people drift apart. The things you found most endearing about your life partner now drive you crazy.

Some people never experience that first love, the spark that generates and controls your every action. They go through life alone. Others have to have a significant other. They do not feel whole unless they are with someone. 

Love Does Not Fade

Does love fade? I don’t believe so. There are many couples who stay together for years. Their love sustains and keeps them safe. They lean on one another through happy and trying times. Love is a bond that does not break.
