Where do you get your hair done? My place of pleasure is called Modern Beauty. It’s a little shop uptown with two big personalities. Jane and Renata. My husband Gary and I live in a small town. I’ve gone through a couple different hair stylists. So, when I found Modern Beauty, I knew within a few haircuts I found a permanent home. 

Jane

Jane, my hair stylist does more than cut my hair. We talk, we laugh, we have a lot of the same views. Jane brings me up to date with her family and her life when I get my hair done. It’s all in good fun. Jane is the kind of sweet person who will go the extra mile for her customers. She has given her customers a ride home if they do not have one. Jane has regulars who come in and many of them are elderly. She is personable, always has something nice to say, and she has a big heart. Jane loves her family, and she loves the town she lives in. 

Renata

Renata is the other half of the twosome who work there. I don’t know her as well as I know Jane but from what I’ve seen she goes the extra mile also. While in their shop taking photos for my blog Renata told me the story of the first time, she met me. It was at a funeral. My husband Garys sister had passed. I remembered as Renata told me the story. She said I took her under my wing. Kindness matters in this world. I recall Renata with tears running down her face. I took her hand, and she sat by us throughout the service.

It's The Place to Be Seen

When you go to Modern Beauty you don't only go there for a haircut, it is the ambiance of the place that sets it apart from other businesses. You just get that feeling when you step in the door. You know you will be well taken care of. Their storefront has a display, they support the high school in town. They are townies. Their place is warm and cozy where you can plant your feet for an hour or so and be pampered. 

A Woman of Many Talents

Janes has been cutting my hair for a while now. She not only cuts my hair; she does my eyebrows also. She colors and snips as she lets me in on the town's latest gossip. Who did what where. At times another customer will come in and join in. It seems as if everyone knows everyone. I’m not from Stanley so I’ll listen and absorb but sometimes will not know who they are referring to. Jane’s banter back and forth with customers is what puts her at the top of my list as a stylist. She puts them at ease and cuts as they please. No one goes away unhappy. Jane talks about her family and life and it’s easy to hear the love in her voice. There is nothing more important to her. It is as it should be. Janes on her feet more than she’s off them. She loves her job, and she loves her customers. It's a cozy feeling.

The next time you’re in Stanley Wisconsin stop by Modern Beauty. Step inside the doors and take in their cute little shop. I can tell you for certain you will be greeted with a hello and a smile. A what can I do for you follows. Jane and Renata will swoop you in and sit you down. Your life will be slightly altered for the better after meeting these two. In a good way. They have been working so long together they can finish each other's sentences. 

I am hoping their little shop lasts forever. I enjoy my time in the chair.
