Home Sweet Home

Day 2 with Ernie. It broke my heart this morning because he didn’t want to come into the house after our walk. We are not home to him yet. No matter how bad his living situation was, he wanted to return. Dogs are creatures of habit, and they do not like change. We pamper him, and he still misses his former home. It’s such a sad moment. We know there is an adjustment period, but we will be glad when we pass that.

Can We Walk?

Ernie loves his walks. This morning we walked for an hour and a half. He could have kept going, but his poor feet were so full of snowballs we had to stop. He needs grooming badly, but it will have to wait until after his surgery. The vet did say clipping his toenails is a free service. One less thing we have to worry about over here.

Sally Is Sally

Sally is still being Sally. I wish she were different, but she isn’t. So, that leaves Gary and me struggling to keep them apart for now. Friday seems a long way off. Wishing this week was over.

Ernie’s sleep is intermittent; he sleeps for two hours and is up. He yawns and yips, his mouth sore. Friday cannot come soon enough.

There Is Always Hope

Let’s cross our fingers and hope today is a better day for everyone. Wishing it was summertime because it would be so much easier. But life doesn’t work out that way. There are always obstacles thrown in our path. Sometimes life isn’t easy.

Until tomorrow we will keep on doing what we have been doing. Another day will pass, and Ernie will continue to be the sweet dog he is.

Stay tuned for further updates on Ernie.
