What Is Streaming

It seems like streaming is all the rage now. We can watch our grandson's baseball games without actually being there. To get set up to do it was a process. But I managed. The first time we actually streamed of course we had no idea how to do it. So, when it said live, I clicked on it. Not a good idea. My daughter's husband's parents did the same thing. Aside from the fact that we are elderly, people need to give us a break. My daughter is calling me. Mom get off of it you have to wait until the person who is at the game is actually set up and streaming and then you click on that. Apparently if you do what we did everyone can hear what we are saying. Talk about a cluster. We did eventually get it all straightened out. 

Easy Peasy

Now we know what we are doing. It’s easy and we love it. I set up my husband's phone with the app so we both can watch the boys play. It really is an amazing tool. There are times the boys play too far away so we don’t go. Streaming comes in handy during those times.

We normally watch the play by play because I have a hard time telling what’s actually happening if we watch the video. If you’ve ever watched play by play, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

The Adult Way

What is streaming? Streaming is the process of sending and receiving multimedia content. Such as a baseball game. A parent who is at the game is streaming it live so we can all watch it. Or maybe you watch Netflix or listen to podcasts. It’s all streaming and it is the here and now. You don’t have to leave the comfort of your sofa to watch your grandkid play ball. Am I the only one who finds this amazing? What did we do before? Well, you actually had to attend said ballgame. There isn’t anything better than being at the ballgames. Gary and I love to go. But if it isn’t possible then streaming is the next best thing. 

What will the world come up with next? Anything is possible. I’ve heard cars that drive themselves are in the works. Not quite sure how I feel about that one. I’m slightly controlling so who knows if that would work for me. I’m thinking no at this point.

Country Living

We live out in the country. Streaming at times doesn’t work the best. Our internet doesn’t work properly at times and so when watching a movie we have what is called buffering. The movie goes out and there’s a little circle spinning around and around. It’s annoying and Gary and I both get frustrated by it and wind up shutting the tv off. There is nothing worse than watching a movie and all of a sudden, it’s gone, and that annoying little circle is there. The movie comes back on and five minutes later it’s the same thing all over again. I’d rather read a book. The joys of country living. 

Who Knows

What will the world come up with next? Anything is possible. I’ve heard cars that drive themselves are in the works. Not quite sure how I feel about that one. I’m slightly controlling so who knows if that would work for me. I’m thinking no at this point.

If you haven’t tried streaming. Give it a try. Once you’ve mastered it there’s nothing to it. 

Grab a bowl of popcorn and a soda. Recline the couch seat back and enjoy.
