Why Won’t it Let Go?
I’m one of the unfortunate ones who have had COVID-it just doesn’t want to leave my body. It’s like a host who has overstayed their welcome. Get out, get out. I’m sick of being sick. I feel better but after I run, I do not feel good. My body is still slightly weak. The three miles I run are a staple run for me. Normally when the weather is warmer, I’m running a lot longer than three miles.
Now I’m waiting for the three miles to get behind me. I’m eager for the end. While running I do not feel bad but after I’ve sat for a while, I start to feel slightly sick. It is an after effect of COVID. Does this stuff ever leave?
Will I Get My Body Back
I’d like to get back to my old self. I miss myself. My strong healthy body I once had. It seems to have disappeared. In its place is a worn-down body with not a lot of energy. Who said I wanted this body? I’d like my old one back please.
Full Marathon Yeah Right
Training for my full marathon is not going well. I didn’t run for two full weeks. It may have to wait another year unless my body starts to cooperate and return to its healthy state. At this moment I cannot imagine running longer than three miles. What is happening here? Getting COVID was not in my plans. I don’t have time for it. The weather is slowly starting to improve, my head tells me to run. My body tells me I have lasting effects of COVID. So, I ran. It’s beyond time for me to start back up. This is most likely the longest I have gone without running. Since running is like breathing to me. I’ll deal with the slightly sick effect I get after a run. That has to go away at some point I would think. I am hoping it is just this first week, next week will be perfect. My body will be back to normal, no more COVID.
I Got Lucky
I’m lucky I was as healthy as I was when I was infected with COVID. Many people wound up in the hospital. Many died. So, I count myself one of the blessed ones to survive this deadly disease. My husband Gary has yet to get it. I told him I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I’m hoping it bypasses Gary. He has enough on his plate without dealing with COVID.
Not one of us wants to come down with it. But many of us have. Those who live to tell about it are the lucky ones. Mask or not mask. Shot or no shot. COVID isn’t fun. It lays you out flat for a day or two, longer than that if your immune system is down like mine was. Two weeks of being under the weather was enough for me. I’m too busy.
Tomorrow is another day for me to stretch my legs and go around the three-mile block. I’m looking forward to it!
Have a stress-free day!
Side note: Once again I didn't feel well after my run. I am hoping this will only last one week.
