Are You Gullible

He hooks you with kindness

You won’t be aware

His words have no meaning

He just doesn’t care

He baits you with promises

That are never kept

He flatters and assures you

There’s no risk involved

He captures your attention

It sounds too good to be true

Is this guy for real

Can he be this sincere

He’s asking for cash

He’s promising the moon

If this works out

You will be financially secure

You give him your savings

He smiles and says thank you

Days turn into months

He seems to have disappeared

Your hearts beating wildly

Your money is gone

His bait and switch is complete

You’re left empty handed

A hard lesson learned

Not one of us is safe

From the predators out there

Our money they’ll swiftly take

They Are Out There

Predators are out there just waiting for the right person to come along. They study and stalk you; they know your routine. They know your moment of weakness and come in for the kill. Everyone should be aware of people who sweet talk you with promises they never plan on keeping. Their smiles are not real, and their talk is all false. The elderly get hit on, perhaps they are naive. Giving someone your money before you have your hands on the prize is never a good idea. This guy or girl will gladly take your cash and disappear into the wind. Never to be seen again. With no trail to follow, a false name and phone number you're left all alone. Your savings have disappeared along with them. You’ve been taken for a ride. They are smooth and underhanded. They will be your best friend. Until the cash is in their grubby little hands. Then poof, like magic. They are gone from your life; you are left shaking your head. Your mind and your bank account are empty.

Always be aware of people who promise you the moon. Most times if it appears to be too good to be true, it usually is. Trust your instincts. If they tell you to run, do so.

It Is Always a Scam

I can promise you one thing I know to be true. Whoever targets you cares not one iota for you. They want what you have and will go to extreme lengths to get it. Protect yourself. Be wary of strangers. They often come bearing gifts and empty words. They’ll win you over with their sweet nature. It is what they do. If you refuse to cooperate, their real face may come through. A glimpse into their eyes will reveal what they want. There is hunger and darkness there if you look close enough. They are not your friend, or your buddy, or pal. They are there with a purpose. Charlatans and thieves. Their only agenda is to steal and take. Keep them at a distance. Don’t be drawn in. Your life savings may depend on it.

The world isn’t safe. It’s a cesspool of rot. The bait and switch works, it’s as old as time itself.

Be aware before they come to get you.
