Treadmill Or Icy Roads
Living in Wisconsin means living with the elements; flexibility is essential. A rainy day can mean a treadmill run. Thunder, lightning, and dark clouds all signify a day spent indoors. Winter storms, at times, come without warning, once again chasing us indoors for the day. Anyone living in Wisconsin knows the saying; baby, it’s cold outside.
Treadmill
For those who know me, the treadmill is something to avoid at all costs. I will run in the rain before running on the treadmill. It depends on the season.
Anyone who enjoys running on the treadmill look for one that is durable; the saying you get what you pay for rings true here. For more information on treadmills click on this link
Again, if it is a warm day and it isn’t raining hard, just a light sprinkle hitting my face; that is my perfect running weather.
A cold and rainy day with no sun, along with a light sprinkle may leave no other option but the treadmill. Running in place is something that can be done as a last resort.
There are winter outdoor runners out there, those who brave the elements. One of the many downsides to running in the winter is the chance of slipping or falling on an icy road. Furthermore, there is the need for multiple layers of clothing to keep warm.
Moving to another state is not an option; family lives in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin Seasons
Summer
It is my favorite season because of the warm weather, the beauty of the flowers, and the sunshine. Who doesn’t like waking up to a beautiful sunrise?
Spring
Spring is a whisper of great things coming. The excitement of seeing green for the first time. The promise of a flower popping out of the dirt. The first hint of warmer weather after a long hard winter.
Fall
Fall is a chance to do everything you didn’t do during the summer. The last chance before winter hits us all. The colors of the trees are exquisite, so pretty they hurt the eyes. Taking a long drive, just soaking in our surroundings, is something my husband and I do often.
Winter
Winter is not my season. Cold, unrelenting winds, icy roads, frigid temperatures, snow drifts, and day after day with no sun. Winter is for the young; if you ask my grandkids, there is snowmobiling, snow forts, sledding, snowball fights, and the making of a snowman.
Wisconsinite
There is no other place to live. The phrase, baby, it’s cold outside, becomes the norm for those who live in Wisconsin. I am a Wisconsinite through and through.
