Have You Seen Me

Are you out there? Have you seen me lately? I’m here but not here, I’m there but over here. I’m everywhere. Busy life, happy wife. Is that how it goes? At some point life should slow down a little bit. Time to catch your breath, settle back and read a good book. Catch some rays in the summertime. Just sit and enjoy. No racing here or there. Just be.

Not Yet

Unfortunately for me that time is not here yet. I’m totally busy all the time. I have no time to catch my breath. No time to just sit and breathe. I run daily. There is no end in sight. I’m thinking I’ll just have to accept this pace for the next three years. It’s a whirlwind, it’s at times exhausting. It is my life.

Sometimes in life we don’t get to choose. We just go with what we know. We worry about the future; we stress about the past. We have this inner need to satisfy and help everyone. Can you do this? Can you go here or there? Sure, just give me a moment to pencil that in. I have a binder I keep appointments in. If I didn’t have it, I’d miss most of them. It has happened. As I age it will most likely continue to happen. Shit happens, life is real. You get out of it what you put into it.

Just writing this down makes me happy. Life is a journey worth taking. Stay in it for the long haul. Don’t get discouraged, get motivated and live. Live to the fullest extent you can live. Because tomorrow is a promise never kept. Live in the moment. Laugh like you’ve never laughed, love like you’ve never loved and be the queen or king of your universe.

Do Things

Go to those ball games, go out to breakfast with your friends, talk on the phone. Do everything and ask for more. Don’t be a Debbie downer. Paste a smile on your face and keep it there. Well, not always you don’t want people to think you are deranged. Be polite, be courteous, but most of all be courageous. If you do not step outside your box once in a while you aren’t living. Challenge yourself to do the impossible. Make it possible. Reach that goal. It’s immensely satisfying.

Me, I’m not a numbers person but I seem to be surrounded by numbers at work. Now I’m doing end of the night stuff that I really didn’t want to do. Why, because it’s more numbers. Last night was my first kick at the cat. I finished it, not without guidance. But I did it.

Be Yourself

We don’t know where life is going to lead us. Be ready to follow. You never know. You may meet some fabulous people along the way. People who will stay in your life. Friends that last forever. People who make you feel good about yourself. People that make you smile your biggest smile. That makes you laugh like there is no tomorrow. That has your back and your front. If you turn sideways, they are your shadow. They are the sun on a cloudy day. The moon at night and a falling star. They are your people.

So, ride this Ferris wheel we call a life. Rock the seat if you want to. Just don’t fall off.

Pace yourself.
