Abortion
My body, my choice. I believe this statement with every fiber of my being. That being said I do not think I’d have an abortion myself. Does that mean I think no other woman should? Absolutely not. It is her voice, whatever she chooses to do with her body. It isn’t your body, it is hers. Her choice to make. The Roe vs Wade overturn was the worst choice ever made by our Supreme Court Justices. It set women’s rights back years.
Not A Great Decision
Handing it to the states to decide is utter chaos. Women living in one state driving to another state to have an abortion is ludicrous and unsafe. There are so many things wrong with this issue. I am not sure where to begin. Women are up in arms about it, women are dying because of it.
There should be a clause with this decision. If the mother's life is in danger, the choice should be left to her and her family. Not our government. If the mother is going to die from complications from a pregnancy it should be up to her if she wants to abort said pregnancy or have the baby and risk the chance of dying. Not our government.
A Child Having a Baby
If a twelve or thirteen-year-old child is raped and becomes pregnant, should she be forced to have this child? This is a baby having a baby through no fault of her own. It will forever change her life whether she goes through with the pregnancy or not. She was raped. From that moment in time her life changed and will be forever altered. Different choices will be made by her, she may go down a path that she perhaps would have avoided had this not happened. When a child gets raped, I don’t think people take into consideration the consequences. A baby is no longer a baby because of a sick man’s perversion.
Roe VS Wade
We all as a country need to take a serious look at Roe vs Wade. I know plenty of women are pissed off because of the reversal. There are those who believe a life should be spared no matter what the cost to the mother. For me this is a narrow-minded way of thinking. There are exceptions to every rule. Nothing is black and white, there are gray areas in every scenario. The only thing that is black and white is the law.
My Body, My Choice
As a mother if you were told by the doctor your child has no chance of a healthy life. They will be in a vegetative state with no hope for survival beyond a year because of some defect. Would you choose to keep this baby, or would you have an abortion? It is a moral decision, a decision a mother and father would have to come to together. Not our government.
Roe vs Wade was decided back in 1973 and reversed in 2022. However, the Supreme Court decided that the right to privacy protected abortion is a fundamental right. It doesn’t sound like a reversal, does it? However, the government can restrict a person from having an abortion based on how far along the pregnant woman is.
Pro Choice
I, as a woman, disagree with all of this. I’ll go back to my body, my choice. Not the governments. The government sticks its nose way too far into our lives as it is. On this issue they can back off and butt out. I’m neither democrat nor republican. As an independent, and someone with a vagina I can say women should be afraid, they should be angry. We shouldn’t take this lying down. We all have a voice. Contact your government in the state you live in. Question them, find out what their stance is. If they don’t give you the answer you’re looking for, go elsewhere. Seek and you shall find. It’s an important issue for women. One we all should be concerned about.
I for one am tired of men thinking they can control what we as women do with our own bodies.
Raise your arms in solidarity. It’s go time girls.
